Vegetable Vendor Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault in Telangana

A 35-year-old vegetable vendor was arrested in Sangareddy district, Telangana, for allegedly raping a 60-year-old woman. A 35-year-old vegetable vendor was taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 60-year-old woman in Telangana's Sangareddy district.

The incident reportedly occurred late Monday night when the vendor, in an inebriated state, assaulted the sleeping woman outside a shop in Narayankhed town, according to a senior police official.

Although there were reports suggesting the woman was mentally-challenged, police clarified that she has some psychological issues. Following a complaint from her family, police examined CCTV footage to identify the accused. An investigation is ongoing.
