Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan assured on Monday that a thorough investigation would be conducted into Nilambur MLA P V Anvar's allegations against senior police officers. Speaking at a police association meeting in Kottayam, CM Vijayan stated, "There have been several allegations recently. The government's position is very clear: there will be an investigation without any prejudice."

He also confirmed that a high-ranking police officer would lead the inquiry. "Any form of indiscipline within the police force will not be tolerated, and there will be consequences for those found guilty," the Chief Minister added.

Left-backed independent MLA, P V Anvar, has made serious allegations against CM Vijayan's political secretary P Sasi, ADGP law and order M R Ajith Kumar, and Pathanamthitta SP Sujit Das. Anvar alleged that the political secretary and ADGP betrayed the CM's trust and failed in their duties.

Anvar further claimed to have conducted a sting operation, recording telephone conversations to expose a conspiracy against the government. He accused the ADGP of being aware of non-bailable offenses charged against many CPI(M) workers who disrupted politically motivated YouTubers at the Navkerala Sadas in Malappuram last November. Anvar also accused the police of being involved in a gold smuggling network aiding prominent jewelry chains in North Kerala.

On August 21, the Kerala Chapter of the IPS Association strongly condemned Anvar's alleged "derogatory, malicious, and defamatory" remarks, urging him to retract his statements and apologize publicly. The Association highlighted that Anvar's accusations were not only baseless but also deeply troubling and unwarranted.

The IPS Association criticized Anvar for labeling the District Police Chief as a fascist and making alarming comparisons to Bangladesh, claiming people might be driven to extreme measures. The Association also noted Anvar's sweeping accusations against IPS officers, alleging widespread disgraceful behavior.
