Four men were booked after a video showing them severely assaulting a man went viral on social media in Madhya Pradesh's Narsinghpur on Monday, a police official confirmed.
The violent incident took place in Kareli town on Sunday, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Gupta.
'After acquiring information about the occurrence, four individuals were charged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for threats, physical assault, and attempting to extort Rs 1 lakh. The victim, identified as Neelesh Sahu, named the perpetrators as Deepu Sharma, Altu Sharma, Shriram Sharma, and Ammu Sharma,' he said.
Authorities are actively searching for the accused.
