United Nations humanitarian aid operations in Gaza were suspended on Monday following evacuation orders from Israel. A senior U.N. official confirmed the inability to deliver aid under current conditions but emphasized their commitment to the people of Gaza. Efforts are ongoing to balance population needs with staff safety.
United Nations humanitarian aid operations in Gaza came to an abrupt halt on Monday after Israel issued new evacuation orders for Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip late Sunday, a senior U.N. official confirmed.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated, "We're unable to deliver today with the conditions that we're in." Despite the suspension, the official stressed, "We're not leaving (Gaza) because the people need us there."
U.N. personnel on the ground have been instructed to find a way to continue their operations while ensuring their safety and security, indicating the ongoing effort to balance the needs of the Gazan population with those of the aid workers.
