Telegram CEO Pavel Durov was apprehended at Le Bourget airport near Paris, according to French President Emmanuel Macron. The arrest, conducted on Saturday, is said to be part of a judicial inquiry with no political undertones, Macron stated on Monday.

On social media platform X, Macron emphasized that freedoms are exercised within legal frameworks to protect citizens and uphold their fundamental rights, while denouncing misinformation regarding Durov's arrest.

Durov, aged 39, landed on a private jet and was detained shortly thereafter, clearing any false narratives surrounding his detention.
