The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday demanded the resignation of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, accusing him of approving the felling of 1,100 trees in Delhi's Ridge area.

Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj presented an affidavit purportedly confirming Saxena's directive to clear the trees during a press conference. The affidavit alleges that Saxena visited the Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) road on February 3 and ordered the removal of trees obstructing the right of way (ROW).

AAP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, have called for a high-level investigation and demanded that all facts be presented to the Supreme Court. Singh criticized Saxena for prioritizing the interests of billionaires over environmental concerns.
