Alleged Forced Conversion and Rape Case Shocks Ramganj

An 18-year-old woman in Ramganj was reportedly subjected to rape and forced conversion to Islam, according to police authorities on Sunday. Three suspects have been detained, though their identities remain confidential.

The harrowing incident unfolded in the Ramganj police station jurisdiction on July 5, and the victim lodged her complaint on Saturday. She claimed she was deceived by one of the accused into signing documents for conversion, stated Station House Officer (SHO) Yajendra Patel. ''Upon her refusal to convert, she was allegedly raped multiple times,'' Patel added.

Following her complaint, an FIR was registered against five individuals under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act on Saturday, the SHO confirmed.
