The Delhi court on Saturday deferred its decision on whether to take cognisance of a supplementary charge sheet filed by the ED against former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, his son Tejashwi Yadav, and eight others in the alleged land-for-job scam.

The order, originally scheduled for today, has now been pushed to September 7 by Special Judge Vishal Gogne, who cited the need for additional clarifications.

The supplementary charge sheet, submitted on August 6, stems from an FIR lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation. Furthermore, the court asked the federal agency to provide the death certificate of another accused, Lallan Chaudhary, following a police report on his purported demise.

The case relates to Group-D railway appointments made in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during Lalu Prasad's tenure as Railway Minister, allegedly in exchange for land parcels transferred to him or his associates, according to the ED.
