Amid the recent furor over the sexual assault incident in Badlapur, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has taken a bold stance. Speaking at an official program for the Mahayuti government's 'Ladki Bahin' scheme in Yavatmal, Pawar suggested that those guilty of such heinous crimes should be castrated.

Pawar emphasized that the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP government will not show leniency to offenders, irrespective of their identity. He revealed that a bill, proposing harsher punishments for crimes against women, has been sent to the President for approval.

The outrageous incident involving two kindergarten girls in Thane district has sparked widespread protests and calls for governmental accountability. The opposition has criticized the government for its inability to protect women and children.
