Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday announced that the profit-making boards and corporations in Himachal Pradesh have been directed to release dearness allowances and other arrears of their employees as soon as the state's financial condition permits.

The declaration came following Sukhu's interaction with delegations from various non-gazetted employee and teacher associations, who briefed him on their demands. According to an official statement, Sukhu expressed his commitment to releasing the allowances and benefits once the fiscal situation improves.

He assured union representatives that he would review the state's financial position within a month and hold a follow-up meeting by the end of September. Sukhu pointed out that the previous BJP government had frozen DA installments, while the current administration has already released a 7% DA increase and is paying arrears to pensioners over 75 years old.
