A POCSO court in Rajasthan has sentenced a 26-year-old man, Koushal Raj Meena, to 20 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 1,30,000 for abducting and raping a 17-year-old girl.

The decision, which was scheduled to be pronounced two months ago, followed the issuance of an arrest warrant after Meena failed to appear in court. The public prosecutor of POCSO Court I in Bundi city, Rakesh Thakur, provided these details.

The incident dates back to December 2019 when the minor's father lodged a missing report, naming Meena as the suspect. The police rescued the survivor a month later and arrested Meena, who was later granted bail. On Friday, he was convicted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
