The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has successfully rescued 967 minors from railway stations and premises within the Eastern Railway's jurisdiction this year.

This operation, known as 'Operation Nanhe Farishtey,' ran between January 1 and November 30, 2024, and focused on reuniting children with their families or placing them in safe custodial care.

The largest number of minors, particularly boys, were rescued from Howrah division followed by significant numbers in Sealdah, Asansol, and Malda divisions.
