Family Booked for Triple Talaq After Praise For Leaders

A man and his family have been booked for allegedly giving triple talaq to his wife after she praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister. The husband allegedly abused her, threw hot dal at her, and tried to strangle her on multiple occasions. The wife reported the incident to the police.

A man and seven members of his family have been booked for allegedly pronouncing triple talaq against his wife after she praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for Ayodhya's development.

According to the police complaint filed by the victim, Maryam, her husband had earlier beaten her and thrown hot 'dal' at her. The family of the husband, who resides in Ayodhya, allegedly attempted to strangle her on the same day he pronounced triple talaq.

Maryam, originally from Bahraich, explained in a viral video clip that she married Arshad in December 2023. She praised the local development during a visit to the city, which angered her husband. He sent her to her parents' home, and after her return, gave her triple talaq. Based on her complaint, police have registered a case, booking eight individuals under the Dowry Prohibition Act and the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act.
