The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday informed the Madras High Court about the recommendation to appoint a Special Officer for a school in Krishnagiri, where allegations of sexual abuse at a fake NCC camp had surfaced. The recommendation came from the Krishnagiri District Educational Officer to the Director of Private Schools.

According to a report filed by Advocate General P S Raman, the court had earlier directed a report on action taken against the school. Acting Chief Justice D Krishnakumar and Justice P B Balaji of the first bench scheduled further hearings for September 12, in relation to a Public Interest Litigation filed by advocate A P Suryaprakasam. The petition sought to transfer the investigation from Krishnagiri police to CBI for better transparency and public confidence.

Jayashree Muralidharan, Chairperson of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, detailed in her report the extensive counseling provided and various welfare measures taken for the affected students, parents, and teachers. Notably, the Special Court awarded interim compensation to ten survivors, ensuring financial relief through special relief funds and recommendations from the Child Welfare Committee.
