The Government of Austria has reinforced its commitment to global development by contributing USD 1.22 million (EUR 1.12 million) to the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) regular resource budget for 2024. This vital funding will enable UNDP to respond swiftly and flexibly to the needs of countries impacted by disasters and conflict, ensuring continued progress toward sustainable development.

UNDP has expressed deep appreciation for Austria’s increased support, which plays a crucial role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Austria’s contributions have been pivotal in several key areas, including human rights advocacy, the rule of law, socio-economic development, climate action, and poverty eradication.

In Albania, for instance, Austria's support has significantly bolstered the legal and policy framework for the free legal aid service provision program, highlighting the tangible outcomes of this enduring partnership.

Austria's core contributions are also instrumental in enhancing UNDP’s oversight and accountability functions, ensuring that its programs are delivered with utmost efficiency and transparency.
