Delhi Police Urges SC to Dismiss Bail Plea of Influential Assault Case Accused

The Delhi Police have labeled the assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister's residence as 'brutal' and urged the Supreme Court to reject bail for accused Bibhav Kumar. Kumar, an aide to CM Kejriwal, is in custody for the May 13 incident and has challenged the Delhi High Court's bail denial.

The Delhi Police have termed the alleged physical assault of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister's residence as 'brutal' and urged the Supreme Court to dismiss the bail plea of the accused, Bibhav Kumar.

In response to Kumar's bail plea, the police emphasized the need to hear Maliwal's side of the story, given Kumar's influential status as an aide to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kumar, currently in judicial custody, stands accused of assaulting Maliwal on May 13, and has contested the Delhi High Court's July 12 decision denying him bail.

An affidavit from Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Meena noted that the incident has had a profound impact on the general public and that any decision in the case could have wider implications.
