FSB Pursues CNN Journalist for Alleged Illegal Border Crossing

Russia's FSB security service has initiated a criminal case against CNN’s British journalist Nick Paton Walsh for allegedly crossing the Russian border illegally to film in the Kursk region. Similar charges are being brought against two Ukrainian journalists. An international arrest warrant may soon be issued.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has launched a criminal investigation against CNN journalist Nick Paton Walsh, accusing him of illegally entering the country to film a report in the Kursk region. Interfax news agency reported the incident on Thursday.

Nick Paton Walsh, a British national, is the subject of the case, alongside two Ukrainian journalists facing similar charges.

The FSB indicated that Moscow could soon issue an international arrest warrant. A conviction for illegal border crossing carries a maximum sentence of five years imprisonment.
