China's Anti-Subsidy Probe into EU Dairy Imports Follows Tariff Dispute

China has launched an anti-subsidy investigation targeting European Union dairy imports, a day after the EU revised its tariff plan for Chinese electric vehicles. China has initiated an anti-subsidy investigation targeting dairy imports from the European Union, just a day after the bloc revised its tariff plan for Chinese electric vehicles.

Wednesday's inquiry, focusing on cheeses, milks, and creams, follows the EU's adjustment of punitive duties on Chinese EV imports, now set at 36.3% from an initial 37.6%.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China noted that the reciprocal use of trade defense measures by both governments is becoming increasingly common. The Chamber will monitor the investigation closely and expects it to be conducted fairly and transparently.
