The District Bar Association issued a stern warning on Wednesday, threatening to launch an agitation if the Haryana government fails to fulfill its commitment of allocating land for lawyers' chambers within the next seven days.

Amarjeet Yadav, President of the Gurugram Bar Association, stated that the association is the largest in the district with about 9,300 advocates, most of whom lack chambers and face significant challenges as a result. Despite multiple promises and appeals, the government has yet to resolve the issue, Yadav said at a press conference.

'If the government does not meet this demand within the stipulated time, the District Bar Association will be compelled to take stringent actions, and the state government will bear full responsibility,' he warned, adding that members might take to the streets or even boycott elections. Kulbhushan Bhardwaj, former President of the District Bar Association, noted that several written requests have been ignored by the government, leaving lawyers with no option but to stage a roadblock or sit-in protest.
