In a bid to maintain fairness during the Haryana assembly elections, the Election Commission has prohibited authorities from announcing results of ongoing recruitment processes for police constables and teachers until the elections are over.
The single-phase assembly elections in Haryana are set for October 1, with results anticipated on October 4.
Despite existing Model Code of Conduct (MCC) rules allowing ongoing recruitment by statutory bodies, the EC found no code violations but chose to defer results to ensure a level playing field. The move follows a complaint from Congress leader Jairam Ramesh regarding recruitment processes.
