Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended Teachers' Day greetings on Thursday, expressing gratitude to all teachers for shaping young minds. Modi also paid tribute to former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.

In a post on 'X', Modi said, 'Best wishes on #TeachersDay, an occasion to express gratitude to all teachers who shape young minds. Tributes to Dr. Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.' Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that teachers not only build the lives of students but also contribute to the nation.

In his post on 'X', Shah stated, 'On #TeachersDay, I bow to all the teachers who build the lives of their students and contribute to building a great nation. On the Jayanti of Bharat Ratna, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, I bow to the former President of India and extend my heartfelt greetings to all our hard-working teachers.'

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also conveyed his greetings and paid tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan, acknowledging the role of teachers in guiding the youth and dispelling ignorance. 'Teachers give us meaningful direction in our lives with their vast knowledge. Let us honor our teachers and pledge to follow the true path shown by them,' Pradhan added in a post.

Teachers' Day, celebrated on 5 September, commemorates the birth anniversary of the scholar and Bharat Ratna recipient Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, born in 1888. He was the first Vice President of independent India (1952-1962) and the second President of India (1962-1967).
