Uttarakhand CM Dhami Pays Tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan, Salutes Teachers on Teacher's Day

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored former President, educationist, and philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary by offering flowers at his residence on Thursday. The occasion, which also marks Teacher's Day, saw the Chief Minister extending heartfelt wishes to educators.
CM Dhami highlighted the crucial role teachers play in shaping the character of students and nurturing them into valuable citizens. He emphasized that teachers significantly contribute to nation-building and societal direction through education and implementation of government schemes.
Expressing the importance of respect towards educators, CM Dhami stated that societal progress is linked to the reverence shown to teachers. He urged students to follow Indian traditions of respect and contribute to national and state development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also acknowledged Teachers' Day, paying tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan and expressing gratitude to educators.
Teachers' Day is celebrated annually on September 5th, commemorating Dr. Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary. A Bharat Ratna recipient, Dr. Radhakrishnan was India's first Vice President and served as the second President from 1962 to 1967.
