CISF Takes Over Security at R G Kar Medical College Following Tragic Incident
The Supreme Court has directed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to assume security responsibilities at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata following the alleged rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor. An armed paramilitary team will be deployed, and a task force has been created to ensure the safety of medics nationwide.

The Union government has commissioned the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to oversee the security at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, following the directions from the Supreme Court.
A CISF team, led by a DIG rank officer, conducted a security survey of the hospital on Wednesday morning, where a 31-year-old doctor was recently found raped and murdered.
An armed team will soon be deployed, and the residents' hostel will also be secured. The Supreme Court has formed a 10-member task force to create a national protocol for the safety of doctors, who have been on strike demanding better protection.
