Bangladesh's deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 86 others are facing new charges for an attack on a procession in Sylhet city, resulting in injuries during recent mass protests on August 4. This brings the number of cases against Hasina to 33.

Juber Ahmed, acting president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal's Sylhet city unit, filed the case with the Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate's court. Hasina's sister, Sheikh Rehana, is also named in the case.

The case statement alleges the accused attacked a peaceful rally by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Sylhet's Bandarbazar area, causing multiple injuries. Notable figures like Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan are also implicated. Hasina has fled to India amid anti-government protests and now faces numerous serious charges including murder and abduction.
