Ex-Principal of RG Kar Medical College Faces Financial Misconduct Probe

A former deputy superintendent of RG Kar Medical College has approached the Calcutta High Court, requesting an ED investigation into alleged financial misconduct by ex-principal Sandip Ghosh. The state has set up an SIT and the CBI is probing a separate incident concerning the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee.

A former deputy superintendent of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court, seeking an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into financial irregularities allegedly committed by former principal Sandip Ghosh.

Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj approved Akhtar Ali's petition, which alleges financial misconduct by Ghosh during his tenure.

Earlier this year, Ali had lodged a complaint with West Bengal authorities regarding Ghosh. In a related development, the state government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the financial irregularities while the CBI investigates the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee at the hospital.
