Devastating Attack on Lviv: Family and Historic Sites Targeted

A Russian drone and missile attack early Wednesday claimed the lives of seven individuals, including four family members, in Lviv, Ukraine, near the Polish border. The city's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, announced that Yaroslav Bazylevych lost his wife and three daughters in the strike.

Sadovyi highlighted the tragedy on social media, stating, 'In the centre of Europe, Russia is eliminating Ukrainians by (killing off) entire families. The Russians are killing our children, our future.' Emergency responders recovered bodies from the ruins of a residential building as distressed families sought news of their loved ones.

Fifty-three people, including seven children, were injured in the Lviv attack, which Russia claims targeted military infrastructure. In addition, thousands have been killed since the war began. The mayor revealed that historic landmarks were also damaged. President Zelenskiy urged allies for advanced air defenses, while Moscow warned of severe repercussions if Ukraine strikes Russian territory.
