Fugitive Army Officer Arrested for Stealing In-Laws' Jewels and Cash
An Army fugitive, Amarjeet Sharma, was arrested for stealing jewellery and cash from his in-laws' house in Himachal Pradesh. Police recovered some of the stolen items, and further investigation is ongoing. Sharma was declared a fugitive in July and apprehended on August 17.

Himachal Pradesh police have arrested Amarjeet Sharma, a fugitive from the Army, accused of stealing jewellery and cash from his in-laws' residence in Barsar tehsil, Hamirpur district.
Sharma, previously with the 58 Armoured Regiment, was apprehended on August 17, and a portion of the stolen items was retrieved during the operation, confirmed Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur.
The police action followed a complaint registered on August 15, leading to the recovery of remaining jewellery and cash from a gold loan dealer shop in Ambala, Punjab. Sharma is in police custody for further probe.
