Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu on Thursday launched a new National Common Mobility Card for the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), facilitating cashless travel across various public transport systems in the country. The card supports multiple payment options, enhancing user convenience.

The initiative positions HRTC as the country's first State Transport Undertaking (STU) to implement such a facility. The card can be seamlessly used on Delhi Metro, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), Haryana Roadways, and Mumbai's BEST buses, marking a significant leap towards a cashless travel system.

Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the card's utility in remote regions with limited connectivity, as it functions without the need for internet. The card has a one-time issuance fee of Rs 100, with easy top-ups available both online and at bus counters. The launch event saw the presence of Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri and other high-profile officials.
