Massive protests by Hindu right groups erupted at Chaura Maidan in proximity to the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday. Demonstrators demanded the demolition of an 'illegal' mosque in Sanjauli.

Hundreds of protestors, many displaying saffron flags and Lord Ram's images, rallied to show 'Sanatan unity' after an attack on a businessman in Malyana. The attack was allegedly carried out by individuals from the Muslim community.

Rumit Singh Thakur, President of Dev Bhumi Shatriya Sangathan, called for the assembly and demanded the government identify and register the trades of outsiders in Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu assured appropriate action.

Sukhu emphasized that all state residents have equal rights and that peaceful protests are allowed, but no one can take the law into their hands. Ministers Anirudh Singh and Vikramaditya Singh clarified that the mosque's legality is under judicial review, and any action will comply with the law.
