The Kolkata Police has suspended three officers, including two assistant commissioners, in connection with last week's vandalism at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, officials reported.
The incident occurred early on August 15, when a group infiltrated the state-run hospital, damaging the emergency department, nursing station, and medicine store.
The unrest happened concurrently with midnight protests by women across West Bengal, sparked by the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor on August 9. The victim's body was discovered with severe injuries in the hospital's seminar hall. An investigation is ongoing.
