Jainoor town in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district remained calm on Thursday, following a day of protests by tribal organizations over an alleged attempt to rape and murder a tribal woman. This incident had sparked communal tension, prompting authorities to impose a curfew.
Additional police forces, including the Rapid Action Force (RAF), were deployed in the town. A flag march was conducted to ensure peace, according to a senior police official. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 BNSS will continue, with decisions on lifting or extending them based on the evolving situation. Similar orders were enforced in four neighboring mandals in Adilabad district due to rally calls from some organizations.
Special teams have been formed to investigate and arrest those involved in violent incidents. Based on the victim's statement, the accused has been arrested and charged with sexual assault, attempt to murder, and relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Investigations are ongoing.
