Chinese Interpreter Surrenders After Domestic Tragedy in Delhi

A tragic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning in northwest Delhi's Maurya Enclave when a 37-year-old freelance Chinese interpreter allegedly killed his wife after a heated argument. The interpreter, identified as Sanjay, later surrendered to the police, officials reported.

Police stated that Sanjay arrived at the Maurya Enclave Police Station around 3:30 am, confessing that he had killed his wife and her body was at their residence. Upon reaching the location, officers found his wife, Mandeep, lying on the bed with a pillow nearby, which was reportedly used to smother her, according to a senior police officer. The woman's body was handed over to her family members following a post-mortem examination.

Investigations revealed that Sanjay lived with his wife and two children on the upper floor, while his parents resided on the ground floor. The couple, who married in 2016, had been experiencing marital discord for over a year. On the night of the incident, an argument escalated, leading to the tragic outcome. The police have taken Sanjay into custody and are continuing their investigation.
