NCL, a 'Mini Ratna' company under the Coal Ministry, came under scrutiny as the CBI conducted extensive searches. The raids spanned multiple locations, including Singrauli, Jabalpur, and Noida, uncovering incriminating evidence and large sums of cash.

Sources reported that those taken into custody include DSP Joy Joseph Damle, Subedar Ojha, Lt Col (retired) Basant Kumar Singh, Ravi Shankar Singh, and Diwesh Singh. The CBI revealed significant seizures, including Rs 3.85 crore from Ojha's residence, believed to be amassed through corrupt practices. The arrested individuals were presented in a special court and are currently in CBI custody.
