Suspicious Deaths of Woman and Daughter in Jabalpur

A 70-year-old woman and her daughter were found dead in their Jabalpur home, with the latter's body hanging from a ceiling fan. Identified as Shyama and Shikha Sahu, their deaths were discovered after neighbors noticed a foul smell. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause.

Tragedy struck in Jabalpur's Miloniganj area as police discovered the bodies of a 70-year-old woman and her daughter in their residence on Sunday. The daughter was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while the mother lay lifeless on the bed.

The deceased were identified as Shyama Sahu and her 42-year-old daughter, Shikha Sahu, according to Gohalpur police station inspector Pratiksha Marco. Shikha, a divorcee, has a son currently studying in Pune, Maharashtra.

Authorities were alerted by neighbors due to a foul smell emanating from the house. Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths, Inspector Marco added.
