More than 50 members of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) have been booked for conducting an unauthorized motorcycle rally on Independence Day in Mumbra, Thane district, according to a police official.

They have been charged under BNS section 223, which pertains to disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant, as well as provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act.

No arrests have been made so far. The rally reportedly occurred from Mumbra to Talaopali in Kausa without obtaining the necessary police permissions, as stated by the official.
