Prithviraj Chavan Urges Waiver of Cut-off Time for Women's Financial Assistance Scheme

Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has asked the Maharashtra government to remove the cut-off time for registering under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Due to technical issues with the registration portal, many eligible women are unable to register on time. Chavan emphasizes implementing the scheme as a social security right.

Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has called for the removal of the registration cut-off time for Maharashtra's Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, allowing all eligible women to avail of financial assistance.

In a letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chavan advocated scrapping the August 31 deadline, citing portal server issues and delays in receiving registration OTPs, which prevent timely registrations.

Chavan highlighted an earlier extension of the deadline from July 15 to August 31 following his intervention, which also prompted increasing the eligibility age limit to 65 years.
