BJP Demands Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's Resignation Amid MUDA Site Allocation Scandal

The BJP has called for Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resign to enable an impartial investigation into his alleged involvement in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. The party welcomed Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision to sanction Siddaramaiah's prosecution, contrasting it with similar high-profile cases involving Congress leaders.

The BJP has urged Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to step down, allowing an unbiased probe into his alleged role in the controversial Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. This comes as the party welcomed the state's governor's sanction for his prosecution.

Addressing a press conference, BJP MPs Sambit Patra and Tejasvi Surya rejected the Congress' claim that Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision was politically motivated. They argued it was a severe corruption case involving Siddaramaiah and his family.

Surya mentioned that the Karnataka government had formed two commissions to investigate the allegations of corruption, acknowledging possible irregularities. The alleged scam involves compensatory sites allotted to Siddaramaiah's wife in Mysuru, seen as having higher property value than the land acquired by MUDA.
