Anti-Corruption Bureau Uncovers Severe Irregularities in Telangana Government Hostels

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana conducted surprise checks in 10 government hostels, uncovering numerous irregularities. The ACB team, assisted by various inspectors, observed inflated student numbers, poor hygiene, inadequate lighting, and misuse of funds. Expired food items were also in use. A report will be sent to the government for action.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana on Tuesday carried out surprise inspections of 10 government hostels across the state, revealing numerous irregularities.

Assisted by inspectors from legal metrology, sanitation, food, and auditing departments, the ACB examined the quality and quantity of food, hygiene conditions, student records, and overall management of the hostels.

The inspections found inflated student numbers, deplorable hygiene in kitchens and bathrooms, insufficient lighting and ventilation, and use of expired food items. Wardens were largely absent, and necessary records were not maintained. A report will be sent to the government detailing these findings and recommending measures for improvement.
