On National Sports Day, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, officially launched the "Retired Sportsperson Empowerment Training" (RESET) Programme, inviting retired athletes from across India to apply and contribute to the nation’s sports ecosystem.

Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the government’s dedication to honoring and supporting retired athletes who have brought pride to the country through their achievements. He stated, "The RESET Programme is a crucial initiative aimed at recognizing and empowering our retired athletes. We encourage all retired sportspersons to seize this opportunity to develop new skills, stay connected with the sports community, and continue to make an impact on our sports legacy."

The RESET Programme is tailored to aid retired athletes in career development, facilitating the transfer of their skills and experiences to benefit the next generation of sports talent. Dr. Mandaviya reassured that the government is fully committed to supporting retired athletes and urged them to apply through the designated portal.

Targeted at retired athletes aged 20-50 who have won international medals, participated in international events, or have been recognized at the national or state levels, the RESET Programme will be executed in partnership with the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE). The programme features self-paced online learning, on-ground training, and internships, with placement assistance and entrepreneurial guidance provided upon successful completion.

Applications for the RESET Programme can be submitted through the portal https://lnipe.edu.in/resetprogram/, and the course will commence following a thorough evaluation process.

This initiative aims to leverage the extensive experience of retired athletes, fostering future sports champions and contributing to the growth and development of sports in India.
