The Indian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka has resumed limited operations after recent political upheaval led to the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The centre announced that applicants will be notified via text message for passport collection.
The volatile situation in Bangladesh, following protests against Hasina's administration, resulted in the closure of all Indian visa centres. The unrest has claimed over 230 lives since August 5.
An interim government, led by Chief Adviser Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, is now in place. Bangladeshi Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain emphasized maintaining good relations with India, regardless of Hasina's current stay in the country.
