Karnataka Minister Appeals for Industry Support in Wayanad Landslide Relief

In a heartfelt appeal following the catastrophic landslides in Kerala's Wayanad, Karnataka Minister MB Patil has urged industry leaders and corporations within the state to contribute to relief and rehabilitation efforts. The disaster has claimed over 200 lives and left numerous people missing.
Addressing industry heads through a formal letter, Patil expressed gratitude for their contributions to Karnataka's industrial growth, while highlighting the massive impact of the landslides that ravaged 310 hectares of agricultural land, displacing thousands of families in Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Meppadi.
Patil emphasised the critical need for immediate rescue efforts, essential supplies, and long-term rehabilitation, including rebuilding homes, restoring agricultural lands, and providing livelihood support. He called for collective action to restore hope and rebuild lives in Wayanad, noting that industrial contributions could have a significant impact. Industries are encouraged to coordinate with Commissioner Gunjan Krishna for assistance, reaffirming the Karnataka government's commitment to supporting neighboring Kerala in this humanitarian crisis.
