The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday recovered a drone along with a packet containing 3 kilograms of heroin, with a market value of approximately Rs 15 crore, near a border village in Rajasthan's Anupgarh district, law enforcement officials reported.
According to local authorities, a farmer from village 30APD alerted the BSF after discovering the drone and the suspicious package in his field early in the morning. The drone, possibly disabled or experiencing technical issues, had foiled what appeared to be an attempted smuggling operation.
Anupgarh Station House Officer (SHO) Anil Kumar confirmed that the farmer, identified as Kaluram Nayak, found the drone and immediately contacted security personnel. The yellow packet containing heroin was seized, and a formal police investigation into the incident has commenced.
