In a tense and grueling operation in Rajasthan, rescuers are working against the clock to save a three-year-old girl named Chetna who fell into a 150-foot borewell in the Kotputli-Behror district. The operation entered its ninth day on Tuesday, with time running out and hope beginning to wane.

Despite efforts from the NDRF and SDRF rescue teams, progress continues to be hampered by layers of sedimentary rock, which complicate the drilling process. The team in-charge, Yogesh Meena, explained that digging through the soil is manageable, but the presence of hard rock has made the task far more challenging.

District Collector Kalpana Agarwal has reassured Chetna's family that expert help has been enlisted, but the complexity of the operation means it is taking longer than anticipated. As hopes gradually dim, the tragedy of a similar incident a fortnight ago, where a five-year-old boy lost his life in a borewell in Dausa, looms heavily over this ongoing rescue effort.
