The Bihar government has taken a decisive step to organize religious properties within the state. All district magistrates have been directed to register unregistered temples, mutts, and trusts and provide details of their immovable assets to the Bihar State Board of Religious Trusts (BSBRT).
Law Minister Nitin Nabin on Thursday confirmed the directive, highlighting the pivotal role of the BSBRT, which functions under the state's law department. He emphasized that priority registration and data submission are critical.
With approximately 2,512 unregistered temples and mutts occupying 4,321.64 acres, and a significant number of these in districts like Vaishali and Kaimur Bhabhua, the minister insists on compliance to prevent illegal transactions and protect these assets.
