In a decisive move, Ghaziabad police conducted a raid on a brothel operating in a flat, apprehending a woman operator and four customers, and rescuing two girls being exploited for prostitution, officials reported on Tuesday.

The raid, carried out on Monday, targeted a flat in the Shalimar Garden police area. The flat was being used to call girls on-demand for prostitution, according to police statements.

Parul, the 36-year-old operator, owned the flat and actively managed the illicit activities. She lured customers by showing them photos of the girls and negotiating rates, inclusive of room charges, said an official.

''Upon receiving a tip-off about the illegal activities, police quickly launched an operation, rescuing two girls and returning them to their families. The operation also led to the arrest of Parul and four customers,'' remarked ACP Siddhartha Gautam.

''The apprehended customers have been identified as Mohammad Umar, Iqrar from Shaheed Nagar colony, and Dhruv and Mangal Das from Nand Nagari colony in northeast Delhi,'' he added.

All the arrested individuals have been jailed under the provisions of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, Gautam concluded.
