The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the CBI to clarify the cause behind the substantial waterlogging in Old Rajinder Nagar on July 27. The incident led to the tragic drowning of three civil services aspirants in a flooded coaching center basement.

The basement's co-owners – Parvinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sarbjit Singh – sought bail, stating they were merely landlords leasing the space and had no involvement in the incident. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma questioned the reasons behind the waterlogging amid heavy rainfall, as the bench reserved decisions on their bail petitions.

The CBI provided that a charge sheet against the accused would be filed within ten days. The High Court stressed the significance of this case, directing the CBI to determine if other nearby properties also faced similar flooding. Additionally, the court contemplated the co-owners' willingness to offer compensation to the victims' families.
