The Delhi High Court on Monday granted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal the liberty to approach a trial court with his bail plea in the CBI corruption case linked to the alleged excise policy scam, considering the change in circumstances of the case.

The High Court noted that when Kejriwal initially filed the bail plea, the charge sheet had not been submitted in the trial court. Having now been filed, the High Court suggested it would benefit Kejriwal to first approach the trial court for bail.

Additionally, the High Court dismissed Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the CBI, emphasizing that parties should first approach the court of first instance. The court pointed to the complexity of the case and voluminous records better reviewed by the trial court.
