Crackdown in Telangana: ACB Arrests 223 in Anti-Corruption Drive

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau has intensified its campaign against corruption, arresting 223 individuals throughout 2024 linked to 152 cases. Notably, the bureau targeted 129 trap cases, leading to the detention of 200 suspects, predominantly government officials.
Director General Vijay Kumar reported recoveries amounting to Rs 82.78 lakh, with a substantial portion reimbursed to complainants. Additionally, assets valued at over Rs 97 crores were attached in disproportionate asset cases.
The ACB initiated regular inquiries and surprise checks across various offices, resulting in a 64% conviction rate. Emphasis was laid on enhancing personnel training to improve investigative skills and knowledge of legal frameworks.
