BSF Director General (Acting) Daljit Singh Chawdhary, along with senior commanders, arrived in Kolkata to assess the security situation.
Chawdhary inspected the North 24 Paraganas district and the Sunderbans region to review the force's readiness. The BSF ordered all field commanders to be present on ground and deploy personnel immediately.
A BSF spokesperson for the South Bengal Frontier explained, "The BSF has increased troop numbers along the Indo-Bangladesh border due to the changed situation in Bangladesh."
