In the sphere of international relations, Bangladesh's interim government is making concerted efforts to secure the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India, a move that coincides with the country's push to bolster its ties with three major global powers: the United States, India, and China.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain highlighted the government's dual focus on extradition and diplomatic relations, stating, 'This is one of the issues, but we have other issues of interest as well. We will pursue them simultaneously.' Maintaining alliances with Washington, Delhi, and Beijing are integral aspects of Bangladesh's foreign policy strategy.
Hossain also identified the resolution of the Rohingya crisis and advancing economic efforts as key priorities. With over a million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, ensuring their rights and security remains critical. As Dhaka engages in delicate diplomacy, the path forward is characterized by a balanced approach to international relations.
